NextPhase Wireless announced that it has been selected by
Convergent IP Networks to deploy a network backbone link between two CIPNetwork
data centers based in Southern California.
Utilizing licensed fixed wireless spectrum on the 29 GHz
band acquired by NextPhase, a CIPNetwork data center, co-located in NextPhase's
Network Operations Center in Anaheim, will be linked over NextPhase's WiMAX-
ready network to a sister CIPNetwork data center based in Santa Fe Springs,
providing increased redundancy and enhanced network security that better meets
CIPNetwork's increasingly stringent security and bandwidth requirements.
"Over the past few years, NextPhase has played an
expanding role in our Company's growth strategies," stated Michael
Buchanan, CIPNetwork's President and CEO. "Under our guidance, our customers
have become increasingly sophisticated and their IP demands have evolved and
expanded. CIPNetworks has endeavored to meet those demands with new product
offerings that continue to exceed their expectations. Partnering with companies
like NextPhase empowers us to provide reliable and scalable solutions to our
business customers, regardless of their locations, while continuing to meet
their growing security and bandwidth requirements."
Continuing, Buchanan added, "Initiatives such as our Santa Fe Springs Data
Center far exceed the average
customer requirements. But, because we are providing both Server Virtualization
and Off Site Backup Services, our storage needs alone will require multiple
Terabytes from the start and will continue to grow. Connectivity speeds
provided by NextPhase should readily exceed 100 Mbps and will greatly increase
WAN performance while allowing for the multiple levels of encryption that our
customers require."
Tom Hemingway, Chairman and COO of NextPhase, noted,
"We are very pleased that CIPNetworks has chosen NextPhase for this
mission-critical project. It is especially rewarding to be teaming with another
company that is as committed as we are to empowering business owners with the
same powerful connectivity and networking capabilities previously reserved only
for enterprise-class companies."
