Morph AppSpace Extends Cloud-Based Platform as a Service to Support Java and Grails, from Just a Dollar a Day

- Drives down cost of web-based application deployment, encourages innovation and offers broadest 'platform as a service' off

Morph Labs, the leading provider of Platform as a Service (PaaS) that leverages virtual infrastructure and open source technologies, has added capabilities to allow Java and Grails applications to be deployed, delivered and managed in its end-to-end platform as a service, Morph AppSpace.

Available to developers around the globe that want a managed environment for web-based applications, the new capabilities for Java and Grails add to Morph’s current offering for Ruby on Rails.

Each Morph AppSpace subscription is an end-to-end deployment, delivery and management system for web applications that combines technology, services and people into a low-cost managed service. Morph AppSpace enables Independent Software Vendors to dramatically reduce their startup costs of bringing a new Software as a Service (SaaS) application to market.

With subscriptions available from $1/day, Morph AppSpace runs an application and handles all system administration. It allows developers to side-step time-consuming challenges such as hosting setups and deployment tasks so they may focus on innovation and the creation of new web-based applications.

With a commitment to open source technologies, Morph Labs provides independent software vendors (ISVs) with a streamlined service to deliver enterprise quality applications to their customer base for a low cost, and gives freelance and independent developers a cost-effective way to launch new applications to the market.

Beyond the additional development language support, Morph Labs has also added a collection of new features requested by developers, including:

  • MySQL database option enabling existing applications to easily move into a Morph AppSpace subscription without modifications.
  • Web-based database administrators console allowing developers to directly access, manage, upload and download data to their own databases.
  • Job scheduler allowing developers to run timed jobs across the distributed environment, as well as pre-integrated web statistics and performance information.
