BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless and Mexican pop superstars, RBD, have teamed to promote the Nov. 20 release of RBD's highly anticipated new album, Empezar desde Cero. As part of an agreement that uses the latest mobile technology to reach RBD fans, Verizon Wireless will sponsor RBD's 2008 U.S. tour, host private performances for promotional winners and conduct autograph signings at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores. Currently, RBD's newest single "Inalcanzable" is available exclusively through Verizon Wireless' V CAST Music. In addition, fans can download RBD Ringtones or Ringback tones over-the-air directly to their V CAST-enabled phones.
"This is an exciting step for RBD," said Pedro Damian RBD's creator. "To be able to provide our fans with the music they love in a mobile environment moves RBD to a new level in entertainment."
"Verizon Wireless' relationship with RBD began last year when the company hosted a private performance at San Francisco's Fillmore Auditorium," said Ed Ruth, director of digital music for Verizon Wireless. "This year we are building on that relationship to bring exclusive RBD music to Verizon Wireless customers."
Private Performances
Verizon Wireless hosted a private performance in New York earlier this week and will hit Miami tonight and Los Angeles this Thursday. Tickets to the performances will be available through Verizon Wireless Communications Store activities and radio promotions.
Green Screen Fun
Fantasy and fun take center stage at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores when green screen technology lets customers "join" the band and dance in the video 'Celestial.' The video will be sent to participants' Verizon Wireless phones so they can share it with their friends.
Autograph Signings at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores
RBD signed autographs for fans at participating Verizon Wireless Communications Stores in New York and Miami earlier this week. Fans will have a chance to meet RBD at the Los Angeles -- Compton Verizon Wireless Communications Store this Thursday, Nov. 15.
