New Rock and NetGen Announce Partnership

Relationship Brings New FoIP and VoIP Offerings to the ITSP Channel

SHANGHAI and ROSWELL, Ga., Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- New Rock Technologies, Inc., and NetGen Communications, Inc., a spin-off of Commetrex Corporation, announced a new technology and marketing partnership that will introduce the New Rock product line of access gateways, IP and wireless PBXs, eSBCs, and supporting software products to the North American market over the next 12 months.  In a related announcement, Hua Lin, New Rock's CEO has joined NetGen's board to further tighten this relationship.

Hua Lin commented: "Our relationship began when New Rock licensed NetGen's fax modems in 2004, and we have built on that relationship with the collaboration on the Smart ATA in 2011.  The impressive volumes immediately generated by Smart ATA's powerful sales proposition led us to look to NetGen for our expansion in the North American market.  I'm also honored to have been elected to the NetGen board of directors."

Mike Coffee, NetGen's CEO, added, "New Rock has an amazing product line that brings unprecedented value to the ITSP and telecom channels. I am enormously pleased that New Rock is looking to NetGen as their technology and marketing partner for this major market expansion."

The Smart ATA®, the first product on the market to incorporate NetGen's patent-pending Smart FoIP®, which brings FoIP performance in carrier networks up to the transaction-success rates of PSTN fax, and combines the fax technologies of NetGen with the VoIP gateway technologies and manufacturing prowess of New Rock.

John Sennott, NetGen's channel-marketing director, explained: "Our channel partners have pleaded for an end to their frustrations with FoIP, which forced some to tell their customers to keep their POTS for fax.  We knew that there was room in the market for an ATA that, in addition to being a full-function voice ATA, could solve these FoIP problems.  We are adding the 'Smart FoIP treatment' to the MX8 access gateway from New Rock."

IoT & Smart Cities Stories
Recently, REAN Cloud built a digital concierge for a North Carolina hospital that had observed that most patient call button questions were repetitive. In addition, the paper-based process used to measure patient health metrics was laborious, not in real-time and sometimes error-prone. In their session at 21st Cloud Expo, Sean Finnerty, Executive Director, Practice Lead, Health Care & Life Science at REAN Cloud, and Dr. S.P.T. Krishnan, Principal Architect at REAN Cloud, discussed how they built...
When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
