NTT Communications Expands Global IP Network Footprint with RagingWire in Ashburn, Virginia and Northern California

NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the global data and IP services arm of telecom leader NTT (NYSE: NTT), and RagingWire Data Centers (RagingWire), the premier data center provider in the United States and an NTT Communications group company, today announced that NTT Com has expanded its Tier-1 Global IP Network into RagingWire’s data center facilities in Ashburn, Virginia, and Sacramento, California.

This expansion will enable NTT Com to further scale its offerings to Internet service providers (ISPs), content-oriented companies, and hosting and CDN providers in these highly strategic markets and increase its access to RagingWire’s growing community of Internet, enterprise, and government customers. In turn, RagingWire customers will benefit from a direct link to NTT Com’s Global IP Network and increased global connectivity options available in these locations.

“The facilities we choose to connect into directly impact the growth of our customer base,” said Brent Duncan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, NTT Com’s Global IP Network, NTT America. “We are excited to extend our footprint with RagingWire in Northern Virginia and Northern California in order to serve a broader community of Internet-centric businesses and offer them the possibility to quickly expand their global reach.”

RagingWire facilities in Ashburn, Virginia and Sacramento, California offer 100% availability, world-class customer service, and the most secure, compliant data center environment possible for customers. Both locations feature RagingWire’s patented 2N+2TM data center architecture for exceptional critical infrastructure redundancy, and are LEED Gold and EPA ENERGY STAR certified.

“As a carrier neutral data center company, RagingWire prides itself on offering a robust portfolio of telecommunications options fully integrated with our colocation solutions,” said Doug Adams, Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at RagingWire. “We are thrilled that NTT Communications has selected RagingWire as a point of presence (PoP) for its Global IP Network, one of the world’s top-ranked global Tier-1 IP backbones.”

RagingWire’s award-winning, 150,000 square foot facility in Ashburn is located in one of the world’s largest Internet traffic interconnection points. The West Coast campus in Sacramento encompasses 500,000 square feet of data center infrastructure in its CA1 and CA2 facilities and offers protection from earthquakes as it is located on a separate tectonic plate from the Bay Area and Silicon Valley while being driving distance from those areas. In addition, RagingWire recently announced that its new 180,000 square foot CA3 data center in Sacramento will be available for customer installations by year end 2014.

NTT Com and RagingWire jointly announced in February 2014 that NTT Com had acquired an 80% stake in RagingWire to expand and enhance its global data center solutions.
