MONTEREY, Calif., April 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sea Otter Classic is excited to announce a new partnership with Magisto, the free, automatic video editing service, to offer cycling enthusiasts a new way to express their love of the sport. At the Consumer Electronics Show in January in Las Vegas Google Glass, GoPro and wearable cameras were main themes of the show. Magisto and the Sea Otter Classic are inviting the event's athletes, fans and general cycling enthusiasts to create their own movies sharing their Sea Otter and cycling adventures.

"Sea Otter has a passionate fan base connected by a common love for cycling," stated Sea Otter Classic President and CEO Frank Yohannan. "By partnering with Magisto, we will offer a new and easy way for all participants to create exciting movies from the footage they are already taking. This will facilitate the ability of our athletes to share their passion for cycling and the Sea Otter experience with family and friends."

Magisto is revolutionizing the social video landscape by transforming everyday pictures and videos into dynamic movies. Within a few clicks, users can upload unedited video footage and photos, and like an expert video editor, Magisto automatically selects the most compelling moments and weaves them together to convey a video story complete with music, customized editing and loaded with emotion. Movies can easily be shared across social media channels including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and more.

In a digital world judged by engaged users, Magisto is quickly making a name for itself with over twenty million registered users, bringing on another three million more per month. Magisto also boasts the most popular video/photo creation app ever included on Google Play.

"Our mission at Magisto is to make it easy for everyone to be able to share professional looking personal stories through video," said Reid Genauer, Chief Marketing Officer for Magisto. As enterprises work to take advantage of Big Data technologies, they frequently become distracted by product-level decisions. In most new Big Data builds this approach is completely counter-productive: it presupposes tools that may not be a fit for development teams, forces IT to take on the burden of evaluating and maintaining unfamiliar technology, and represents a major up-front expense. In his session at @BigDataExpo at @ThingsExpo, Andrew Warfield, CTO and Co-Founder of Coho Data, will dis...
Eighty percent of a data scientist’s time is spent gathering and cleaning up data, and 80% of all data is unstructured and almost never analyzed. Cognitive computing, in combination with Big Data, is changing the equation by creating data reservoirs and using natural language processing to enable analysis of unstructured data sources. This is impacting every aspect of the analytics profession from how data is mined (and by whom) to how it is delivered. This is not some futuristic vision: it's ha...

Most people haven’t heard the word, “gamification,” even though they probably, and perhaps unwittingly, participate in it every day. Gamification is “the process of adding games or game-like elements to something (as a task) so as to encourage participation.” Further, gamification is about bringing game mechanics – rules, constructs, processes, and methods – into the real world in an effort to engage people. WebRTC has had a real tough three or four years, and so have those working with it. Only a few short years ago, the development world were excited about WebRTC and proclaiming how awesome it was. You might have played with the technology a couple of years ago, only to find the extra infrastructure requirements were painful to implement and poorly documented. This probably left a bitter taste in your mouth, especially when things went wrong.
