iBasis and Deutsche Telekom to Peer for LTE Roaming and Signaling

iBasis, a KPN company, and International Carrier Sales & Solutions (ICSS), the international wholesale arm of Deutsche Telekom, today announced an LTE Roaming peering agreement that will benefit mobile network operator (MNO) customers of both companies by enabling a consistent, high quality LTE roaming experience for their subscribers.

The new agreement leverages the companies’ existing GRX peering agreement, as well as each company’s IP eXchange (IPX). The global IPX ecosystem continues to grow as an increasing number of interconnected operators add value to their propositions by utilizing IPX-enabled components, including Signaling/S6a, Data/S8 and VoLTE, to deliver a complete LTE Roaming solution.
