SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/16/14 -- The OpenDaylight Project, a community-led and industry-supported open source platform to advance Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), announced that Coriant and ZTE Corporation have joined the project to accelerate the adoption of SDN and NFV. With support from 31 member organizations, the OpenDaylight developer community is bringing together technologies, ideas and code to deliver a common, open source platform for network programmability.
For enterprise and service providers to move their SDN and NFV strategies forward with confidence requires the existence of a common, widely supported platform. OpenDaylight represents the largest community of developers working collaboratively to develop an open platform with a consistent set of APIs, expected systemic behaviors and a rich ecosystem of applications and supporting technologies that increase interoperability and reduce risk of implementation and evolution. Because it is open source, OpenDaylight can be a core component within any SDN- and NFV-based architecture, and anyone can use, modify and contribute to the codebase.
