Tendril and Hitachi Communication Technologies America Extend Partnership

Tendril®, a provider of customer engagement solutions, and Hitachi Communication Technologies America, are expanding the way consumers take charge of their energy use. The partners are enabling consumers with information on how much they spend on energy and how they can save.

There is a growing trend of telecom, cable, and mobile providers adding energy information services, and partnering with energy providers, to bring about innovative consumer engagement and demand response initiatives. Tendril is opening up new communication channels for these providers by delivering flexible tools that allow for increased levels of engagement and interaction between the provider and their customer base. With this partnership, Hitachi can offer an integrated home experience that engages consumers using Tendril’s web portal and Hitachi’s SuperJ® Applications Ecosystem.

Recently a multinational provider of communications and data services to residential, business, governmental and wholesale customers began working with Tendril and Hitachi to do exactly this—to find new ways to engage with their customers. As a result, this telecom provider is helping its customers focus on energy conservation by delivering personalized information on their energy consumption and recommendations on how they can consume less energy.

“We are fully committed to helping service providers harness consumer interest in their energy consumption,” said Adrian Tuck, CEO of Tendril. “Working with a partner, like Hitachi, that shares our vision of customer engagement and can help us enable service providers with large customer bases is a major part of this commitment."

“Our relationship with Tendril has allowed Hitachi to become a trusted partner for a host of service providers that want to more openly engage with their customer base,” said David Foote, CTO, Hitachi-CTA. “Given the rise in energy awareness, it only makes sense that one of the ways to empower consumers is to increase their energy awareness. That is why we are working with Tendril to provide consumers with the information they want to make better decisions.”

Tendril’s solutions provide residents with information and tools to take steps toward achieving personal energy goals and to change energy consumption behaviors to conserve energy and ultimately save money.

Blockchain is a new buzzword that promises to revolutionize the way we manage data. If the data is stored in a blockchain there is no need for a middleman - the distributed database is stored on multiple and there is no need to have a centralized server that will ensure that the transactions can be trusted. The best way to understand how a blockchain works is to build one. During this presentation, we'll start with covering the basics (hash, nounce, block, smart contracts) and then we'll crea...

Recent developments in Supreme Court and lower court case law will be reviewed to explain the intricacies of what inventions are eligible for patent protection, how copyright law may be used to protect application programming interfaces (APIs), and the extent to which trademark and trade secret law may have expanded relev...
Never mind that we might not know what the future holds for cryptocurrencies and how much values will fluctuate or even how the process of mining a coin could cost as much as the value of the coin itself - cryptocurrency mining is a hot industry and shows no signs of slowing down. However, energy consumption to mine cryptocurrency is one of the biggest issues facing this industry. Burning huge amounts of electricity isn't incidental to cryptocurrency, it's basically embedded in the core of "mini...

Where many organizations get into trouble, however, is that they try to have a broad and deep knowledge in each of these areas. This is a huge blow to an organization's productivity. By automating or outsourcing some of these pieces, such as databases, infrastructure, and networks, your team can instead focus on development, testing, and deployment. Further, organizations that focus their attention on these areas can eventually move to a test-driven development structure that condenses several l...
