Huawei to Demo MSO Solutions at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2013

Solution exemplifies Huawei innovation through forward-thinking research on HFC access evolution

ATLANTA, Oct. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2013 -- Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced its participation at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013. The company will be providing product and prototype demonstrations for industry peers.

As more devices with high bandwidth functionality find their way into homes, networks need an optimized approach to provide service and connectivity. Demonstrating its continued commitment to MSOs (Multi Service Operators) and the cable industry, Huawei will showcase the following solutions:

  • D-CMTS, a Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) CMTS solution, which has recently completed DOCSIS 3.0 interoperability testing at CableLabs;
  • A DOCSIS® 3.1 prototype system capable of delivering multi-gigabit bidirectional bandwidth over coax;
  • Wireless backhaul solution;
  • IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) for Packet Cable 2.0 transformation, and converged multiple devices family communication solution; and
  • A 19" rack-mountable high efficiency DC power system.

Huawei executives will also be on-hand to share its vision on the evolution and optimization of HFC network utilizing a next-generation toolkit including DAA and DOCSIS® 3.1.
