RICHMOND, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/19/13 -- GameSkinny, a proprietary video game publishing platform where gamers -- regardless of age or platform -- can discover, create and promote their voice to the video gaming community, today announced a $2 million investment led by CLR Partners.
The Series B Funding represents a significant investment in a video game publishing platform. It will back the continued development of GameSkinny and expand the existing Guild Launch website, the leading online video game community platform for guilds with more than three million users. The investment will be used to continue exploring collaborative, enthusiast journalism as an influential component in video game culture and fund new opportunities to expand the platform's reach, influence and future endeavors in the mobile space.
"After a successful launch earlier this year, we hit the ground running and are pleased to receive funding from CLR Partners," said Amy White, Senior Editor at GameSkinny. "As experienced veterans in the video gaming space, we're thrilled to see this platform being adapted by so many, so quickly -- a true testament to what gamers want and react positively to."
With its fully responsive design; the proprietary publishing platform has seen phenomenal success since its late-January 2013 launch; from attracting and retaining new talented contributors to enthusiastic video gamers of all types. GameSkinny is for anyone passionate and interested in video games wanting to express their voice and opinions to a large audience.
"CLR Partners led the Series A round of funding for Guild Launch and is pleased to continue to support Guild Launch and GameSkinny through the Series B funding," said Stephen Johnston, Sr., managing partner, CLR Partners. "GameSkinny will drive the convergence of social, media and mobile; and influence the future of video gaming culture. We look forward to working with GameSkinny as it continues to disrupt the media landscape."
GameSkinny kicks down the publishing barrier by making it simple for video gamers of all types to start contributing. Quality content gets the visibility it deserves and contributors get noticed. To that end, the platform is committed to being the premier video gaming publishing platform of today and tomorrow; from mobile to social and beyond.
