Perseus Telecom, a global provider of ultra-low latency connectivity, has placed on the 2013 FinTech 50 Watchlist, a shortlist of 50 companies in Europe that are redefining financial services through technology. The list is the first of an annual exercise to track one of the fastest moving sectors in technology.
The inaugural FinTech 50 Watchlist is based on the expertise of the Watchlist Panel, ten industry leaders from across the financial services and technology industry. The panel convened at the end of 2012 to debate and select the top companies that demonstrate the potential to become a game-changer in FinTech or the competitive staying power to continue being one.
‘FinTech’ – financial technology – is a tremendous growth sector in Europe. Perseus Telecom, a leading provider of ultra-low latency, high capacity global networks, was selected by a panel of ten judges for the FinTech 50 Watchlist for its outstanding work in financial services technology. Perseus European Sales Director Janesh Mistry recently discussed this work in a broadcast interview where he highlights the company’s focus on innovating and enabling the financial community to trade faster between key exchange locations around the world. Perseus Telecom advanced the financial technology industry with the 2012 launch of the world’s fastest Trans-Atlantic network, QuanTA, and recently with the introduction of the fastest available microwave service for European financial markets.
“Perseus is truly a company of firsts and we are tirelessly committed to changing the status quo for trading technology,” says Jock Percy, CEO of Perseus Telecom. “We are honored to be included as part of the FinTech 50 Watchlist, as it validates our continued commitment to being a leader in the FinTech space.”
Additional awards include the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award for Fastest Connection to BM&F Bovespa and Percy’s recognition in Financial News’ 40 under 40 Rising Stars in Trading and Technology.
