ESPOO, Finland, March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Exomi today announced the launch of its Rich Communications Services platform for mobile operators. Backed by the GSM Association, RCS services and the Joyn initiative provide a compelling set of operator backed rich media communication capabilities and a promise of comprehensive interoperability for the worldwide mobile phone user base. With both an in-network and hosted RCS solution, Exomi provides turnkey solutions for RCS deployment including a full Joyn-compatible offering currently undergoing accreditation verification by the GSMA.
RCS services, such as instant messaging, video sharing, file transfers and location sharing, aim to bring telecom grade reliability, security, automatic service activation and quality -of -service to a market currently dominated by over-the-top service providers. With an open standards based architecture, RCS has gained significant momentum with operators and is set to become the new standard for person-to-person communications beyond voice and text messaging. For Exomi, joining the global RCS effort was a natural step with the company's solid foundation and extensive experience in messaging as well as mobile browsing and streaming.
Exomi is also working closely with the foremost RCS client vendors such as Neusoft Mobile Solutions to offer a customizable and fully integrated end-to-end solution. "With our own platform complemented by Neusoft's fully accredited client portfolio, we can fast track innovative service deployment on the RCS/IMS architecture without compromising RCS compatibility. This gives our customers a definite edge in rolling out a compelling and differentiated offering into a rapidly evolving market," says Joakim Nylund, CEO at Exomi. "This partnership gives us a unique position to quickly deliver the full infrastructure and device support under a single contract and a lockstep schedule," he emphasizes.
