MIAMI, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 03/12/13 -- ColoHouse Data Center, the leading SSAE 16 certified, Miami Data Center and Colocation Hosting Facility, has received the 2013 Beacon Award in the Information Technology sector. The company has been recognized by The Beacon Council for their dedication to job creation, investment, leadership and growth in the IT community.
"We are honoring individuals, industries and organizations which have contributed to strengthen our local economy," said Joseph W. Pallot, Chairman of The Beacon Council, in a recent press release. "Whether they are a small business, a large multinational or a valued establishment, they are outstanding, and we thank them for their commitment to our community."
The Beacon Awards are a component of Miami-Dade County's One Community One Goal Initiative to diversify the local economy and promote higher-paying jobs. The 2013 winners will be recognized on Thursday, March 14, 2013 during an awards ceremony and luncheon aboard the Celebrity Constellation at the Port of Miami.
ColoHouse is undoubtedly capitalizing on the opportunity created by the significant progress in the demand for IT infrastructure and services; which has supported the company in substantially increasing their client base, and therefore enabling continued job creation and expansion.
The colocation hosting provider is due to complete a 6,500 sq. ft. expansion project which commenced amidst a lease agreement with Digital Realty, a leading global provider of data center solutions. The agreement substantially increased the length of the lease the company holds at 36 NE 2nd Street in downtown Miami; a telecom grade, Category 5 hurricane protected building which also resides outside of FEMA's 500-year flood zone. Moreover, this contract solidified ColoHouse's advancement in the data center marketplace as well as their continued commitment to Miami.
"It is an honor to receive this prestigious award," states Paul Bint, Chief Executive Officer at ColoHouse; as it is evidence of our commitment aimed at further developing our data center and colocation services footprint. We are certainly pleased to be a valued member of The Beacon Council, and ultimately the Information Technology community in Miami-Dade County."
