Alpheus Communications, a leading provider of Texas metro-regional fiber and networking solutions, has completed a dark-fiber IRU agreement with Fidelity Communications enabling Fidelity to scale transport bandwidth between Dallas and Memphis in serving its broadband customers.
“Fidelity is pleased to establish a strategic partnership with Alpheus, which enabled us to acquire this key, dark-fiber asset,” said Mike Davis, chief operating officer at Fidelity Communications. “It’s a very compelling route, and it’s in very high demand, so by completing this transaction with Alpheus, we have added another strategic asset to our portfolio of voice, data and video services.”
Since 1940, Fidelity Communications has been committed to bringing the latest technology and services to the customers it serves. From PBXs and Key Systems to IP Office solutions, networking, structured cabling, overhead paging systems and more – Fidelity offers a complete range of business telecom solutions. More than 60,000 business and residential customers in five states rely on Fidelity for their telecom services.
“Our large fiber footprint in Texas gives us significant operational flexibility and it also creates strategic options, like the Fidelity transaction,” said Alpheus CEO Scott Widham. “The Dallas-Memphis route was a good candidate for a carrier partnership and we look forward to our continued relationship with Fidelity.”
The Alpheus fiber network is connected to more than 300 central offices and POPs (points-of-presence), which creates a dense metro fiber infrastructure throughout the company’s strategic markets of Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin, as well as south Texas into the Rio Grande Valley.
