Wilcon announced today the deployment of its Los Angeles Metro Ethernet Network utilizing leading-edge Brocade® MLX® Series Routers at the network core. The deployment leverages Wilcon’s extensive dark fiber network – the densest in downtown LA – to deliver best-in-class services and meet the demands of companies managing massive data traffic growth.
Wilcon’s Metro Ethernet Network brings together all of its data centers and Points of Presence (PoPs) with cores located strategically throughout LA’s telecom district to maximize network resiliency. Wilcon offers Ethernet capabilities that include point-to-point and point-to-multipoint Layer 2 transport with speeds from 10Mbps to 10Gbps.
“LA is at the center of multiple industries driving tremendous data traffic growth,” said Jon Deluca, CEO, Wilcon. “We are seeing an ever-increasing demand to support this traffic with the highest performance, most cost-effective network deployments available. By leveraging the Brocade MLX at the core of our Metro Ethernet Network, we are able to deliver industry-leading capabilities and network edge flexibility to our customers.”
Wilcon’s Metro Ethernet Network is powered by Brocade MLX routers, which provide industry-leading wirespeed density, rich Carrier Ethernet capabilities, and advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 capabilities.
With the Brocade solution, Wilcon’s network can provide higher scalability, performance and reliability, as well as key operational efficiencies that will greatly benefit its customers.
“Wilcon is one of the premier fiber and data center infrastructure providers serving the West Coast,” said Ken Cheng, vice president of the Routing, Application Delivery and Software Networking Group at Brocade. “Purpose-built for the most demanding networks in the world, the Brocade MLX Series of high-performance routers provides a highly scalable and flexible core network solution for Wilcon to deliver truly best-in-class Metro Ethernet service to its customers.”
