TranSwitch Corporation (NASDAQ: TXCC), a leading provider of semiconductor solutions in the rapidly growing consumer electronics and telecommunications markets, today announced that the Company’s TXC-44144 HDplay™ transceiver has been selected by Yudong for a new high definition video switch expected to launch early in the second quarter of 2013. Yudong, headquartered in China, is a leader in multimedia devices for residential, commercial, and industrial applications including video transmission systems, matrix switch products and intelligent home control equipment.

Matrix video switches enable users to connect multiple audio/video sources to multiple audio/video displays. This level of interconnectivity is a compelling solution for applications that require a significant number of source devices and destinations, such as broadcast services, surveillance systems, retail displays, public signage, and commercial presentations. Utilizing TranSwitch’s unique AnyCable™ technology, Yudong’s new matrix switch supports the use of long cables, which are typically required in matrix video switch applications, while maintaining HDMI® 1.4 performance.
