ARLINGTON, Va., March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile technology is increasingly playing a critical role for students navigating the world of college admissions. According to the 2012 E-Expectations Report published by Noel-Levitz, 52 percent of college-bound students use their mobile devices during the college search process. Today, Hobsons announced the launch of Naviance Student, a free iPhone app that helps students organize tasks associated with college search and enhance communication with school counselors, teachers and families.

"At Princeton City Schools, we believe technology levels the playing field for our students. We are excited to use the Naviance Mobile app since most of our students already use their mobile phones to access websites and social communities. The app will address another opportunity for us to help our kids with the college admission process," William Sprankles, 6-12 principal, Princeton City Schools, Sharonville, Ohio.
Princeton City Schools was one of more than 20 schools using the app during a year-long pilot program.
Naviance Student allows users to browse more than 4,200 college and university profiles, as well as manage tasks and to-dos associated with the college admissions process, such as application deadlines and planning college visits.
Additionally, students are able to exchange messages with their school counselors or schedule appointments to meet in-person to discuss their college planning decisions. Students can also sync their tasks and other activity with the web-based Naviance Family Connection portal so they'll have access to their information wherever they go.
The app is now available to all Naviance Network members. Schools can learn more about Naviance Student here. The app is now available in the iTunes Appstore for students to download.
