QuadraMed® Corporation today announced that it has expanded its Enterprise Self-Service portfolio to include a new mobile patient access solution. QuadraMed AccessNow Mobile software enables a patient to easily engage and manage his or her care before, during, and after a visit —all from a mobile device such as a smartphone. This mobile offering is part of QuadraMed’s Access Management suite, which includes Enterprise Self-Service solutions available via point-of-service devices, the web, and now, mobile devices.
With AccessNow Mobile, QuadraMed has leveraged the proven self-service methods of the airline and banking industries to reduce costs and improve efficiency, patient satisfaction, and data collection across the healthcare enterprise. Patients can use the app to request appointments; view appointment history; get alerts and reminders; pay bills; update account information; view clinical summary documents; and check in for service within seconds using a Quick Response (QR) code. Patients will be able to securely and conveniently access the app from an Apple or Android-powered mobile device. Organizations can integrate AccessNow Mobile into their existing mobile app, or use QuadraMed’s stand-alone mobile app.
“Every day, QuadraMed self-service solutions help us provide the excellent, attentive care and service our patients and their families deserve,” said Theresa Meadows, senior vice president, Information Services and Chief Information Officer for Cook Children's Health Care System. “Our vision is to make interacting with our hospital as simple and easy as checking in for an airline flight. We believe that having self-service at the point-of-service—and via mobile technology and the web—is the future.”
“The ongoing mobile revolution has produced a significant, global demand for anywhere, anytime convenience. Patients demand 24x7 access to their healthcare organizations, like they receive from other industries,” said Jim Dowling, QuadraMed’s senior vice president and general manager, Enterprise Self-Service Solutions. “We’ve re-imagined—and simplified—healthcare access, bringing innovative solutions to the market that make it easy for patients to interact with their healthcare system.”
In addition, patient receivables will constitute 30 percent of providers’ total revenues by the end of 2013, according to a recent survey. This trend is revolutionizing the way patients collaborate with their providers. Self-service is one of the most significant ways providers are aligning to this shift in financial responsibility, to improve patient collection at every step of the patient encounter.
