Alcatel-Lucent gaat de komende vijf jaar KPN's vaste netwerk in Nederland transformeren

- Alcatel-Lucent gaat KPN's vaste netwerkactiviteiten en de migratie van het bestaande netwerk naar de volgende generatie tehcnologieplatformen beheren

BARCELONA, Spanje, 27 februari 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile World Congress 2013 -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) en KPN hebben vandaag een vijfjarige beheerdiensten-overeenkomst bekendgemaakt voor de transformatie van KPN's vaste netwerk in Nederland. Naast het beheer van de dagelijkse activiteiten van KPN's netwerk zal Alcatel-Lucent de bestaande spraak- en transportnetwerken migreren naar de volgende generatie van Alcatel-Lucent's technologie.

Alcatel-Lucent zal een end-to-end-oplossing plannen, ontwerpen en implementeren waarmee KPN's netwerk een grotere capaciteit, geüpgraded apparatuur en de beste klantenserviceprocessen zal krijgen. Alcatel-Lucent zal KPN tevens helpen bij het transformeren van de bestaande multi-vendor spraak- en kernnetwerken waardoor klanten toegang krijgen tot multimedia-inhoud en deze kunnen delen, ongeacht waar zij zich bevinden, met een apparaat van hun keuze: een smartphone, computer of tablet.

Belangrijke feiten:

  • Door de dagelijkse netwerkactiviteiten over te dragen aan Alcatel-Lucent kan KPN zich richten op de groei van de activiteiten en op zijn doel, het leveren van top-of-the-range-diensten aan klanten.
  • Alle beheerdiensten zullen geleverd worden door middel van Alcatel-Lucent's Standard Delivery Model - een bewezen ontwerpproces dat ervoor zorgt dat de klanten van KPN de best mogelijke netwerkervaring hebben. 
  • KPN zal voordeel halen uit Alcatel-Lucent's bestaande standards-based netwerkprestatietools en ervaring voor het verbeteren en migreren van de bestaande spraak- en transportnetwerken migreren naar de volgende generatie van Alcatel-Lucent's technologie.
  • Alcatel-Lucent zal de kernnetwerken van KPN migreren naar de volgende generatie Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH)-technologie, KPN's Voice over IP (VoIP)-dienst naar Alcatel-Lucent's IMS-platform overbrengen en een WLAN- en beveiligingsgateway voor wifi-netwerken en professionele diensten leveren.
