London, 21 February 2013 - Submissions for the TV Connect Industry Awards 2013 have reached record numbers again this year. The TV Connect Industry Awards are the most prestigious awards in the connected entertainment space and they celebrate the wide range of innovation, excellence and achievement in the industry. The shortlist has now been announced and features many top brand names from across the globe nominated for the accolades.
Now in its seventh year, the 2013 TV Connect Industry Awards will be judged by an influential panel of senior and expert individuals, including cable and telecom operators and independent experts, who represent an impressive cross section of the industry.
"The awards are a great acknowledgement of all of the hard work and dedication from those working in the sector," said Gavin Whitechurch, Executive Director at Informa Telecoms & Media. "In this expanding industry space, business models, services and applications are all evolving rapidly. It's important that we recognise the market's innovators - not only to celebrate their success with them, but also to take stock of what we can all learn from their leadership."
Part of TV Connect, the awards ceremony will take place at One Mayfair, London, on Wednesday 20 March 2013.
During the gala ceremony Bob Zitter, EVP and CTO of Home Box Office (HBO), will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his efforts as a technology leader and innovator throughout the history of HBO and within the industry. Zitter is taking part in the TV Connect conference agenda, keynoting on Day Three (Thursday 21 March).
