NetScout® Systems, Inc., today announced the company is teaming with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley to bring smiles to the children of soldiers serving in the United States Armed Forces. On Thursday, February 21 from 1-5:00 p.m. PST, the NetScout team will turn its Silicon Valley offices into a makeshift carpenter’s workshop to construct two playhouses that will be donated to a local chapter of Blue Star Moms, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support for United States Armed Forces, its veterans and their families. This will be NetScout’s third consecutive year participating in the program, and the first year the company has upped its commitment by offering its offices for a “site build” and increasing its donation from one to two playhouses. The Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley Playhouse Program has donated playhouses to organizations including the Ronald McDonald House, InnVision, Community Solutions, Rebekah's Children's Services, Chamberlain Children’s Center and the YWCA.
When: Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 1:00 − 5:00 p.m. PT
Where: NetScout Systems, Inc., 178 E. Tasman Drive, San Jose, CA 95134
“Through our Heart of Giving program, NetScout has established a close relationship with numerous charities such as Habitat for Humanity in the cities and towns where we have offices. The Playhouse Project is a unique venture that allows us to directly give back to local families that deserve our support and recognition,” Ken Boyd, CIO and lead executive of NetScout’s San Jose site. “Nothing tops the smile on a child’s face when they receive one of the playhouses we’ve built, and we’re especially excited that the playhouses this year will be going to Blue Star Moms. Our military personnel do their part serving and protecting our country, so it’s nice to be able to do something in return.”
