LOUISVILLE, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/31/13 -- Zayo Group, LLC ("Zayo") announced that its Washington, D.C., fiber optic network provided support to the major news networks at the 57th Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 21, 2013. Zayo's Metro Network provided connectivity for video broadcast from the major venues throughout the day.
As President Barack Obama was re-inaugurated into office, Zayo fiber was used by key networks to broadcast and highlight major events of the day. These leading news outlets utilized the network for video feed from the morning Worship Service, important activity at the White House and U.S. Capitol on Inauguration Day.
"Zayo has one of the most extensive fiber networks in Washington, D.C., which is regularly used to carry important news throughout the region," adds Jim Nolte, senior vice president of sales at Zayo Group. "To be selected once again as a provider for an event like this is a rewarding demonstration of the confidence our customers have in our network reliability."
