SAN DIEGO, Jan. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mushroom Networks, Inc., innovators of Broadband Bonding™ technology, today announced it provided its Truffle Broadband Bonding Internet solution to LS Direct Marketing (www.ls-direct.com). Truffle is a Broadband Bonding network appliance that offers aggregated Internet connectivity of up to 12 Internet access lines and two additional wireless data cards. LS Direct Marketing lost its single Internet connection during Hurricane Sandy and required a new connectivity solution with greater reliability and redundancy.
LS Direct Marketing is a one-stop communications solutions provider targeting retail, enterprise and small business offering marketing campaigns, which are driven by data analytics. The company relies heavily on a stable Internet connection to conduct business, especially in order to maintain contact with its printing and mailing facility, which is located more than 100 miles from its headquarters. LS Direct Marketing also relies on its Internet connection to provide 24/7 web hosting for many of its clients throughout North America.
"Even though Sandy came and went, the East Coast will be dealing with unstable Internet service for quite some time," said Jeff Horowitz, President and CEO of LS Direct Marketing. "We have one singular Internet connection to the building, which was cut within the first few hours of Hurricane Sandy on October 29th and not reconnected until a week later. Missing a deadline could have cost our customers millions of dollars in revenue, and that's never an option for us. With Mushroom Networks' Truffle technology, we were up and running in less than a few minutes and were able to provide services to our clients, especially those who were still having to deal with the aftermath of the storm. After implementation, both our staff and our clients now had Internet service running at optimal speed and reliability."
"Better yet was the ease of deployment," said Nick Piatek, Senior Software and Web Developer for LS Direct Marketing. "It was crisis mode on both a professional and personal level for our team, and I found Mushroom Networks to be 'plug and play.' The ability to bond over multiple 4G modems enabled us to push production jobs through effortlessly."
"We are very pleased to see our solution help LS Direct Marketing during a crisis situation, and to know they are able to meet the needs of their clients going forward," said Dr. Cahit Akin, co-founder and CEO of Mushroom Networks. "Truffle is an ideal solution for enterprises of any size that require ultra-reliable Internet access at their head-quarter offices or branch offices. Through Broadband Bonding, we can combine DSL, cable modem, T1, satellite, fiber, 3G, 4G or any other broadband connection into a single bonded pipe. It's especially suited to companies such as LS Direct Marketing that need to provide connectivity to their remote offices as well as their clients."
LS Direct Marketing extended the usage of its bonded connection to other local businesses affected by the storm. Emerging Media (www.emergingmediapr.com) from Nyack, New York brought in three staff members who set up a temporary office in LS Direct Marketing's conference room until their power and Internet connection was restored.
Currently in its 15th year of operation, LS Direct Marketing's portfolio includes more than 1,000 enterprise, agency, and small business clients. The Suffern, New York-based company offers multiple business services including customer retention, prospect conversion, loyalty building, and customer recapture.
