Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading provider of innovative retail information technology and hospitality software solutions, today announced it has partnered with Motion Computing, the worldwide leader in rugged tablet PCs and mobility solutions, to deliver comprehensive, best-in-class mobility solutions to retailers utilizing Windows POS systems.
“For the past two years, our company has been providing mobile solutions that run on Apple iOS and Motorola Android platforms,” said Aaron Hagler, vice president, solutions delivery, Agilysys Retail Solutions Group. “Now, through our partnership with Motion, we are excited to offer our customers cutting-edge mobile POS solutions running on a Windows platform as well. Motion’s ruggedized mobile technology and breadth of accessories are a great fit for our retail-hardened solutions offerings and are an immediate fit to enable mobile tablets for Windows-based store technology retailers.”
With the addition of Motion tablets, Agilysys’ customers that use back-of-store, Windows-based servers and applications can now seamlessly harness the benefits of mobile POS functionality. “Additionally, since it is no longer necessary to rewrite or modify server-side software applications, cost of entry is substantially reduced and the speed of deployment is significantly increased,” Hagler commented.
Agilysys will be responsible for developing the tablet’s software, integrating with legacy Windows applications, mobile infrastructure, staging, deployment and ongoing management, support and service.
“Motion is committed to aligning with industry-leading companies like Agilysys to develop and deliver solutions that continue to define mobile computing,” said Grant Frederiksen, senior director, strategic corporate alliances, Motion Computing. “We are looking forward to working together to provide innovative solutions to Agilysys’ retail customers. Agilysys’ ability to provide comprehensive one-stop shopping mobile solutions and services are a tremendous value-add for retailers and to us.”
Agilysys and Motion Computing are ideally suited to drive the delivery and deployment of end-to-end, best-in-class mobility solutions. To find out more, please visit Agilysys and Motion Computing during the NRF 102nd Annual Convention & EXPO at Booth #1857.
