Alphion® India Private Limited announced today the launch of the AOLT-4200, small-form factor, Optical Line Terminal (OLT) platform that specifically addresses rural broadband and mobile backhaul applications. Alphion® India is exhibiting its full range of GPON products at the India Telecom 2012 exhibition, in New Delhi, India, December 13^th – 15^th.

The AOLT-4200 addresses the bottlenecks and inefficiencies created in wireless backhaul networks as broadband access becomes dominant in base station backhaul and the size of the wireless cells decreases.”

Alphion® India GPON solutions enable the convergence of wireless and wire-line networks as it is suitable for distribution of any-play voice, high speed Internet, Virtual Private Network (VPN) data, Ethernet Line (ELINE), Ethernet LAN (ELAN), video services (IPTV), Rural Broadband, and Mobile Datacom applications. Fully compliant with IEEE 1588V2 Precision Time Protocol standard for base station timing and synchronization, the product line supports both legacy TDM circuit-switched transport through pseudo-wire emulation and next-generation packet-switched transport through native Ethernet over SynchE and additionally provides assured availability with GPON’s optional network protection switching mechanisms.
