LONDON, Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the calibration services market, Frost & Sullivan recognises Trescal with the 2012 European Market Penetration Leadership Award. An outstanding market strategy based on sustained acquisitions and customer value enhancement has enabled the company to consistently expand market share.
"Trescal has proven its operational and technical competency through its comprehensive calibration service offerings that include execution and procurement of measurement systems, custom-built equipment, management software solutions and support services," noted Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Prathima Bommakanti.
In addition to equipment verification and repairs of test and measurement (T&M) instruments, Trescal offers a wide range of calibration associated services, efficiently meeting customer requirements across the globe.
"Acting as a comprehensive solutions provider, Trescal has been enjoying the leadership position in terms of market share and penetration as well as end-user satisfaction over the past few years," remarked Francois Prospert, Group Vice-President, Sales & Marketing at Trescal. "Unlike its competitors, Trescal also undertakes equipment installation at customer sites, provides asset management solutions, and offers technical support services as well as training in the calibration services market."
Trescal provides calibration services to a wide variety of customers in the electrical, mechanical, physical and temperature segments leveraging its extensive global network of high quality, accredited laboratories and skilled personnel.
Over the years, the strategies adopted by the company (both organic and through acquisitions) to penetrate the calibration services market and thereby acquire the leadership position in the European market have been highly successful.
In 2011, Trescal acquired Stork Intermes (a leading calibration services provider in the Benelux region) and Antech Engineering Limited (a leading calibration service provider of pressure, temperature and flow measurements) for a pro-forma turnover of around €16.5 million.
The company has also focused on meeting unmet demand in the American market. In early 2011, Trescal acquired Dynamic Technology Inc. (DTI), a key player in the American calibration services market.
"These three acquisitions by Trescal in the U.K., U.S. and Benelux region have helped the company to increase its pro-forma turnover by approximately 30 per cent in 2011," stated Guillaume Caroit, General Secretary. "Apart from focusing on collaborations and acquisitions, Trescal also pays keen attention on its organic growth (which was approximately 4 per cent in 2011) strategies."
Serving 25,000 customers, Trescal has demonstrated its ability to effectively meet the ever-increasing requirements of customers in the automotive, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, semiconductors and telecom segments.
The company has developed an online web-based application – that is an asset management system which helps keep a record of a customer's test equipment and other assets. Ensuring utmost customer satisfaction, Trescal provides support services on a 24/7 basis through its 150 calibration laboratories and regional customer support centers.
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Penetration Leadership Award is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated excellence in capturing the fastest measured rate of change of market share within its industry. This Award recognises how fast a company increases its penetration of a market, in terms of revenues or units as specified.
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognise companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.
