MOUNT LAUREL, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 11/05/12 -- Ulticom, the industry leader in signaling solutions, announced the availability of LTE Roaming support using advanced Diameter Edge Agent (DEA) capabilities including GSMA PRD IR.88 compliance, security, SLA enforcement, and billing features as part of their Diameter Signaling Controller (DSC).
The Ulticom DSC provides Roaming Hub Operators, Telecom Equipment Manufacturers, and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) with a turn-key, Linux-based software solution that can be easily integrated with new or existing products. The product is suitable for stand-alone deployment as a centralized router or edge agent in both Roaming Hub (IPX, GRX) networks and in the Mobile Networks. Supporting MNO to IPX/GRX and MNO/MNO roaming interoperability, the Ulticom DSC provides the functionality required to facilitate a seamless user experience.
"LTE Roaming has become an important focus for Mobile Network Operators, Roaming Hub Providers, and Telecom Equipment Manufacturers. The flexibility and scalability of the Ulticom DSC is critical to monetizing and stabilizing LTE networks," said Bruce Swail, CEO of Ulticom.
Security: As the Mobile network Operators (MNOs) interconnect their networks; each network provider must be confident their network is protected from the other provider and that the topology of both networks is adequately disguised.
Multi-Vendor Interoperability: MNOs typically deploy equipment from many vendors, some with different interpretations of the standards. Ongoing network upgrades on either side can further complicate the issue. A Diameter Edge Agent (DEA) establishes a clean boundary that can limit propagation of problems, compensates interoperability issues, and reduces the costs associated with testing and unanticipated consequences.
SLA Support and Billing: The Ulticom DSC product provides the most advanced 3GPP Diameter Edge Agent functionality available today, including mechanisms for enforcing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and providing Call Detail Records (CDRs). A CDR contains useful information to confirm correct system operation, prevent SLA violations, detect problems, and to charge for services rendered.
The Ulticom DSC can also be deployed as an integrated component solution for applications that require Diameter Load Balancing, DRA functionality, or Diameter SS7 Interworking on any commercially available Linux-based hardware platform. Learn more at www.ulticom.com
