Tecore Joins Western Telecommunications Alliance, Continues Commitment to Rural Markets

Tecore Networks®, a pioneer global supplier of 2G, 3G, and 4G/LTE mobile network infrastructure, today announced that it has joined the Western Telecommunications Alliance (WTA), an organization representing over 250 small rural local exchange providers in the 24 states west of the Mississippi River. The announcement follows several key product releases targeting 3G and 4G solutions for rural and regional markets.

Tecore stands today as one of the last American companies manufacturing cellular infrastructure equipment. For the past twenty years, the company played a key role in the build out of the second generation of wireless technology throughout the country and the rest of the world. With a continued focus on a scalable product line, Tecore is providing the enabling technology solutions that fast track rural operators into third and fourth generations of wireless technology.

In 2012 Tecore Networks has taken several key actions that demonstrate the commitment of the company to the rural marketplace. It has:

  1. Introduced the LTE-Network in a Box (NIB®) License Saver targeting rapid deployment;
  2. Introduced the Mobility Virtualized Platform (MVP) supporting scalability and cloud-based services;
  3. Introduced the LiTECORE™, the world’s smallest 4G core network; and
  4. Announced an agreement with ALU to combine ALU Radio Access Equipment with Tecore’s award-winning line of Core Network platforms

Combined, these products provide 3GPP-compliant solutions tailored to meet the unique coverage and scalability requirements of the rural space.

“For over twenty years, Tecore has maintained a product-focus, supplying infrastructure solutions that are designed for operators in Rural America,” said Jay Salkini, President and CEO of Tecore Networks. “Last week, and as part of this commitment, Tecore stood side by side with rural operators on Capitol Hill to help deliver the message of a fair competitive market for wireless in Rural America. By joining the WTA, Tecore further demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to the rural space.”

Today's workforce is trading their cubicles and corporate desktops in favor of an any-location, any-device work style. And as digital natives make up more and more of the modern workforce, the appetite for user-friendly, cloud-based services grows. The center of work is shifting to the user and to the cloud.
