Salesforce.com Named a Finalist in Two SIIA Codie Awards Categories, Recognizing Innovation in CRM and Software Development

Recently Launched On-Demand Platform, AppExchange, Nominated for Best Software Development Solution

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Salesforce.com , the technology and market leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced that Salesforce, its industry-leading on demand CRM solution, has been named by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) as a finalist for the 2006 Codie Awards for Best Customer Relationship Management Solution and AppExchange, salesforce.com's on-demand platform, as a finalist for the 2006 Codie Award for Best Software Development Solution. This is the fifth consecutive year that salesforce.com has been nominated for Best CRM Solution; the company won the award in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005.

Established in 1986, the Codie Awards are the longest-running awards program in the software and information industry, and acknowledge the most innovative products and services. SIIA, which presents the awards, is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry. Nearly 1,000 product nominations were submitted for Codie Awards in 63 categories.

The Codie Awards nominations were judged by software and information industry trade journalists, national technology writers and analysts, and education technology specialists. The final round of judging will be conducted by members of SIIA, making this the only peer-review awards program in the industry.

Salesforce.com recently announced the general availability of the AppExchange, the world's first on-demand platform and directory, boasting more than 160 application listings within the first week of availability. Since salesforce.com AppExchange became available, the platform is being actively utilized by more than 15,000 developers and has received inquiries from more than 500 independent software vendors.
