Even Heroes Need the Right Tools in Their Utility Belts

We at SafeKidZone believe, without a doubt, that the people who make up 911 emergency services are all heroes

We at SafeKidZone believe, without a doubt, that the people who make up 911 emergency services are all heroes. It’s not an easy job, but these brave folks are earnest in their willingness to do what is necessary to help save a life.

In the case of the Schmitts, in the article, 911 did not make it in time to save their family home from burning to the ground simply because of situational fog: in this case poor cellular coverage which routed their emergency call to an alert center on the other side of the county. Compound that problem with difficulty locating the Schmitts and the outcome was unfortunate.

There is no question in my mind that as soon as the information was received, brave firefighters rushed over there as fast as they could. But even the most fleet-footed of heroes could use a helping hand by way of having powerful tools in their utility belts. It’s the situational fog that slows things down because our brave responders are either still chained to old technology in most cases or limited by the availability of a given network by which to call for help – cell phone towers, in this case.

Generally, cell phones are a very useful device not just for convenience but as potential security devices. Sure, it just makes sense! However, as many of you know – more so now due to the article - the phone is only part of the equation. If you’re in an under-served area in terms of cell phone coverage it can mean serious time considerations in one way or the other.

SafeKidZone uses GPS, which means that no matter where you are you can be located accurately regardless of cell phone coverage. It also sends a text message and email with your location to your network and first responders in the event that words fail you or if your cell reception is weak. So, not only will firefighters/police officers/paramedics etc., know where you are, they know the shortest and fastest way to get to you and tend to your emergency.

Spread the word and let’s help our heroes!

According to Forrester Research, every business will become either a digital predator or digital prey by 2020. To avoid demise, organizations must rapidly create new sources of value in their end-to-end customer experiences. True digital predators also must break down information and process silos and extend digital transformation initiatives to empower employees with the digital resources needed to win, serve, and retain customers.
IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
