SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/02/10 -- Tilera® Corporation, developer of the breakthrough TILE™ family of high-performance multicore processors, today announced that it has opened a branch office in Yokohama, Japan that will handle sales and support of Tilera products. Moreover, this new office will be spearheaded by seasoned enterprise computing professional Yoichi Ishige.

Tilera's Japan Country Manager, Mr. Ishige, has previously served in various sales management, marketing and business development roles at Macnica, Inc., one of the world's largest full-service manufacturers' representative companies. In a prior position, Ishige managed the opening of Macnica's Europe offices, including strategic planning, running the distribution business and revenue generation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Nihon University.

In Japan, there are a number of leading OEMs building products that require higher levels of compute and scalability than is available from other processor vendors.
