NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 07/02/09 -- Leading French wine producer Georges Duboeuf launches a "Sip Into Summer Whites" campaign as the exclusive white wine for Sean "Diddy" Combs' annual White Party on July 4th at a private mansion in Los Angeles. Called summer's "party of the year," the 400 guests will include movers and shakers from fashion, music, stage, screen and more. Everyone makes a style statement dressed in all-white attire and will have the opportunity to enjoy Georges Duboeuf's white wines from the Mâconnais, including his Mâcon-Villages and Pouilly-Fuissé, throughout the event. This year's party will raise awareness for Malaria No More.
"Sip Into Summer Whites" is a summer-long campaign to promote Georges Duboeuf's Mâconnais white wines through fashion and charity events in New York and Los Angeles, and white parties in restaurants across the U.S. Featured wines will include 2007 Mâcon-Villages ($11.99), Saint-Véran ($15.99) and Pouilly-Fuissé ($21.99).
Throughout July and August, Georges Duboeuf will host 45 "Sip Into Summer Whites" parties at restaurants in 15 cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Louisville, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, Tampa and Washington, D.C. Attendees will be encouraged to dress in white and will be able to sample Duboeuf's white wines, whose popularity contributes to Georges Duboeuf being the number one French wine brand in the U.S.
"A crisp white wine defines summer like a white linen shirt -- light, refreshing, versatile and stylish," said Georges Duboeuf. "Our Mâconnais whites are extremely versatile and pair beautifully with summer salads, grilled fish, light pork dishes, ceviche and carpaccio, even picnic foods like fried chicken and deviled eggs."
While being promoted as crisp and refreshing summer wines, Georges Duboeuf's classic Mâconnais white wines are truly a delight for all seasons.
Georges Duboeuf Mâcon-Villages, 100% Chardonnay with no oak aging, has delicate acidity and subtle aromas of white Spring flowers and citrus, and a finish of almond and hazelnuts with a crisp and refreshing taste. Suggested retail price: $11.99.
Georges Duboeuf Saint-Véran, named for the village where the wine is produced, is 100% Chardonnay with no oak aging. The wine has floral notes with a touch of honey, lime and toast and a pleasing, fruity taste. Suggested retail price: $15.99.
Georges Duboeuf Pouilly-Fuissé is 100% Chardonnay, aged six to eight months in oak, with a bouquet of roasted almonds, verbena, lime and vanilla and supple and fruity taste. This wine is considered the "jewel of the Mâconnais." Suggested retail price: $21.99.
